bioRe® Sustainable Cotton

Fair trade cotton bearing the bioRe® Sustainable Cotton quality label comes from controlled organic farming by small farmers in India and Tanzania. Non-GMO seeds are used to grow organic cotton. Since it is almost impossible for farmers in India to purchase non-GMO seeds, bioRe® India Ltd. has started growing organic cotton seeds themselves. The bioRe® Foundation supports and promotes this seed research project.

bioRe® farmers participate in the decision-making process and receive a purchase guarantee from Remei for their organic cotton harvest. Farmers are paid a premium of 15% above the regional market price.
