ECONYL® is the regenerated nylon yarn created from abandoned fishing nets in the oceans or from aquaculture, landfill waste, fabric scraps and carpets destined to be thrown away. In this way, new life is given to tons of waste and a textile fiber is obtained with characteristics identical to virgin nylon, perfect therefore for creating items such as swimwear or sportswear. ECONYL® can be regenerated and remodeled endlessly, thus allowing the creation of new products without using new resources and above all to reduce its impact on global warming potential by 80% compared to common nylon produced from petroleum. For this reason, ECONYL® is an excellent solution for valorizing waste and for reducing the problem of climate change.
For every 10,000 tons of ECONYL® raw material, 70,000 barrels of crude oil can be saved and 57,100 tons of CO2 eq. emissions avoided.
