The khadi Natural Hair Dye application ritual is a centuries-old Ayurvedic practice to give hair a natural shade and strengthen it.
Add warm water to finely ground plant powder to create a mixture with a creamy consistency. Apply the precious colouring mixture to freshly cleansed hair. Once the application time is over, rinse the hair with water only. The colouring result is immediately visible, but will intensify further over the next 24-48 hours.
HOW TO USE: First wash your hair with a silicone-free shampoo, such as Amla Shampoo or khadi Shikakai Shampoo.
Then mix the khadi Natural Hair Dye mixture with warm water at a temperature of 50 °C until you obtain a mixture with a creamy consistency. Spread the mixture evenly over the hair with a brush: strand by strand to the tip. If you only wish to dye the roots, do not apply the dye to the lengths and ends. Take care to distribute the dye evenly throughout the hair and massage it in well so that it envelops each hair.
LAYING TIME: Leave the natural colour on for between 30-60 minutes. If you wish to obtain a delicate honey blonde shade, 30 minutes' application time is sufficient. If, on the other hand, you prefer to achieve a warm, bold sunshine blonde, the application time should be 60 minutes or longer. Then rinse the shade with warm water only. Do not use shampoo for 24-48 hours. This is in fact the time period required for the colour to develop its full intensity.
To fix the coloured pigments in your hair, you can use a Khadi Hair Oil before the first wash, e.g. Amla Oil. Leave the oil on for at least 20 minutes and then wash your hair with a natural shampoo. This way, your khadi shade will last longer.
Every hair has its own particularity, which is why, when using a natural hair colour, the result may vary. To ensure that you are satisfied with the final result, we recommend that you try the khadi Natural Colour on an inconspicuous piece of hair before proceeding with the full colouring.
