Eco Detergent and Eco Bio Detergent certifications are voluntary product certifications issued by ICEA on the basis of a conformity assessment of products and the production process to the requirements set out in the Eco Bio and Eco Detergency Discipline.

ICEA has initiated a regulatory pathway in the industry that has, to date, produced a disciplinary framework shared by the parties involved in the production, marketing and consumption of these products.

The main requirements that the standard is to guarantee are:

  • The absence of both the product and the packaging material of "at risk" materials from an ecological point of view
  • The absence of non-vegetable raw materials considered "at risk", ie allergic, irritating or detrimental to human health and the environment
  • Packaging from renewable raw materials, recyclable materials or linked to a return restraint system
  • A product with good performance and effectiveness comparable to conventional high-end products.

Products bearing Eco Detergence are allowed to use products derived from conventional farming provided they are not GMOs or derived from GMOs (in the case of "at-risk" products, ie present on the market in the form of GMOs such as corn, soybeans, rape, Etc. voluntary product certification is required by accredited third parties).
