khadi is synonymous with controlled natural cosmetics, made according to the principles of the Ayurvedic tradition and in compliance with modern quality standards.
In the early 2000s, one of the two founders of khadi Naturkosmetik visited India for the first time. During this trip he discovers an extraordinary land and its inhabitants, and falls in love with an Indian girl. However, the journey is disturbed by his dry scalp, which tends to flake and cause burning. His girlfriend offers him an Indian hair oil and a shampoo with neem made according to Ayurvedic formulations. Our protagonist decides to try the products and in a few days the dandruff, the itching and the burning disappear. Happy to have solved his problem and simply excited to have touched the effectiveness of Indian plants and natural herbs, he develops a project: to make those products of natural cosmetics so effective accessible to people in Germany. Together with his girlfriend he begins to develop a project: in collaboration with Ayurvedic doctors, the two develop formulations for natural cosmetics that are dermo-compatible, effective and tolerable, to be imported into Europe.
In 2007 the khadi online shop was born in Germany. The motto is: fair, ecological and effective. Effective and innovative natural cosmetics combined with the power of nature and the remedies of the Ayurvedic tradition. The first products marketed are hair oils and shampoos, and then comes the time for vegetable hair dyes, which are also produced in India according to special formulations developed by khadi.
