Vegan Society certification is the oldest and most prestigious Vegan certification. It was the same English association founded by Donald Watson in 1944 that issued the certificate to coin the word Vegan. Currently certification can also be issued by an Italian body, Certification Europe Italia srl.
This brand allows consumers to recognize that a product has been created and developed:
- Without the use of ingredients that have involved or involve the use of products, by-products or animal derivatives;
- Without ingredients that have directly or indirectly involved experiments on animals.
Certification checks cover all phases of the production process, but verification is also done at production plants to verify that the knowledge of vegan choice is widespread.
